ECER Conference Bursaries
Each year, EERA offers financial support to 20 promising emerging researchers from Eastern European and other Low GDP countries to enable their conference participation. The ECER conference bursary (previously the ECER scholarship) consists of free entry to the ECER Main Conference and a 500 € travel bursary. Please note that the award does not cover free entry to the Emerging Researchers' Conference (35 € for low GDP students).

The SAGE Bursary

SAGE Publishing kindly agreed to sponsor one of the 20 bursaries awarded in 2012. The Sage Bursary is given to a promising student who has recently finished his/her PhD.

Emerging Researchers’ Conference Bursaries 2012
The EERA and the Emerging Researchers’ Network have established two bursary funds for postgraduate students and new researchers within 1 year of completing their PhD in order to allow them to participate in this year’s ECER (European Conference on Educational Research) in Cádiz. This will include:
- 10 Scholarships for students and recent graduates from Eastern European Countries
- 10 Scholarships for students and recent graduates from other low GDP Countries (including those from low GDP countries studying in high GDP countries)
Whilst this bursary is open to recently qualified researchers (within 1 year of completion of a Doctorate), if applications exceed the number of bursaries priority will be given to PhD students. Master’s students are not eligible.
Conference Dates
ECER 2012 “The Need for Educational Research to Champion Freedom, Education and Development for All”
Emerging Researchers’ Conference: 17 - 18 September (Monday - Tuesday)
Main Conference: 18 - 21 September (Tuesday - Friday)
Each bursary includes:
- Accepted presentation for the Emerging Researchers’ Conference
- Fees for the Main Conference
- Social events
- 500 € for travel and accommodation costs
To apply, please submit a proposal to the Emerging Researchers' Conference before 1 February and then send the following before 30 March:
- Your CV
- Your proposal for the Emerging Researchers' Conference /your proposal number
- A motivational letter
- A letter from your supervisor
- A copy of your passport
