Network Activities

Individual participants have met throughout the year, at conferences and research project meetings. Publications related mainly to individuals’ initiatives to work together on particular projects (also book projects), and ECER network 24 events helped to further these. More and more, it seemed, international mathematics education research groups schedule their meetings for ECER, so they can go to ten conference and have their annual meetings before or after the conference.

Future Developments

Firstly, and as mentioned above, we want to encourage more sessions/presentations on methodological issues in mathematics education research. At ECER 2012 the network will organise an invited Roundtable on this theme. Secondly, as in previous years, network 24 will work with pre-conference organisers and support the pre-conference. Thirdly, the network envisages and wants to put together a Special Issue on methodological issues after ECER 2012. This would help the profile of the conference in mathematics education community, if significant conferences contributions are published. produce proceedings (which give publication points). Fourthly, the Network would like to continue to collaborate with other networks (e.g. inclusion, didactics, curriculum etc.), as was practiced in previous years.
