Current Activities

The book entitled “Beyond Fragmentation: Didactics, Learning and Teaching” edited by Brian Hudson and Meinert Meyer was published by Barbara Budrich Publishers in 2011. This includes over 20 chapters submitted by active members of Network 27.

Future Plans

Progress has been made with the book arising from the Colloquium held at University College Dublin during 21-22 June 2010 with the Teacher Education Policy in Europe (TEPE) Network following a successful funding application to the EERA Council with Network 10 Teacher Education Research. This is currently being edited by Judith Harford, Brian Hudson and Hannele Niemi and is due to be published by Peter Lang in 2012 under the title “Quality Assurance and Teacher Education: International Challenges and Expectations”. This initiative has attracted contributions from a number of international scholars including Pavel Zgaga, Hannele Niemi, Stephen Kemmis, Kay Livingston, John Coolahan and Linda Darling-Hammond. The Journal of Research in Fachdidaktik has been established by Helmut Vollmer and will be launched in 2012. Also several members of the network are involved in the Year Book on General Didactics published by Schneider Verlag Hohengehren. The next edition in 2012 will be entitled “International Perspectives on the German Didactics Tradition“.
